The thing about Thailand
Thailand is really turning out to be like the country size version of EP. There are so many small Nurseries all around where small and large growers alike are making spectacular new crosses, generally involving mirabilis var. globosa (or 'viking') somewhere in there. They are importing top quality plants from EP, BE, and MT and are starting to use those plants in crosses. This is great news for me, since I love LL growing plants that with some HL blood in them. Thankfully I have some very good connections with people in Thailand who ship some of this stuff to me. Many of my favorite plants have come directly from Thailand including the globosa x rafflesiana 'kondo' and globosa x (mirabilis x ampullaria).
globosa x (mirabilis x ampullaria)
globosa x rafflesiana 'kondo'
I hope to be crossing many of my Thai crosses with EP plants as well. I have two different clone of bellii x [(stenophylla x lowii) x (rokko x veitchii)], one female and one male both showing a rather nice trait: a large peristome that blocks of most of the opening on upper pitchers.

Some plants from august
The weather has been great for Nepenthes, so here is a sample of the better stuff from August.
N. mirabilis var. globosa x (mirabilis x ampullaria)
I was very lucky to get this plant. It is one of the best forms I have seen, and holds pitchers for a long time.
N. mirabilis var. globosa
lots of different forms...
veitchii H/L x maxima (l)
this is the second summer I have had this, and it is doing quite well so far!
[(thorelii x rafflesiana) x thorelii] x veitchii H/L
A very nic form of the re-crossing done by EP.
veitchii H/L x eymae
This should be quite spectacular when older...
bellii x [(stenophylla x lowii) x ('rokko' x veitchii)]
Lower pitchers resemble bellii x veitchii, but uppers like the one pictured go bonkers with the peristome
x hookeriana var. alata
you don;t see many of these lying around!
ampullaria x ventricosa
beautiful plant. Starting to make basals already
bellii x carunculata var. robusta
my favorite of my four clones so far...
mirabilis var. globosa x rafflesiana 'kondo'
I loved this so much I got 2 more from Thailand. You can't go wrong with this grex!
spathulata x veitchii H/L
drop dead gorgeous! This WILL be used for hybrids, no question about it!

N. 'viking'
This species was newly described as N. mirabilis var. globosa, but I still prefer the the name the Thais use: N. 'viking'. I have been acquiring different forms for a bit more than a year now and have many select forms that I have received directly from Thailand, thanks to connections made on eBay (the Thais I have dealt with are wonderfully nice individuals). These pictures are of a new plant that from Thailand that I purchased off of eBay. The picture listed on eBay gave no hint as to how spectacular this plant was. This is now my best form of the species.
